A day of rest

Bonjour tout le monde!!
Today is a bank holiday, so INSA is closed, as are more businesses. It's technically called "jeudi de l'ascension", which means Thursday of Ascension.
Because we didn't have class today, we used the morning to catch up on sleep. Andrea and I slept until around 11/12. Our friends got up around the same time. We decided to get some cheese and wine and sit in the park. Not sure if you've noticed but this seems to have become a common activity for us.
Walking distance from campus there is a really nice park called "Parc de la Tête d'Or" which translates to the park of the head of gold. We aren't sure why its called that but it's a really nice park. There's a big zoo inside and we walked past a zebra enclosure.
We found a grassy area by the lake and enjoyed our midday snack. After we ate, we all laid in the sun and fell asleep. I'm sure we looked pretty funny- six 20 somethings sleeping on the ground in the park- but it was one of the best naps I've ever had. We woke up and sat by the lake for awhile, admiring its beauty.

My friends decided to go to an oyster bar tonight and get some seafood (Talia if you're reading this I can't wait to hear about it) but Andrea and I decided to stay back and do some laundry and relax.
Laundry here is surprisingly difficult, but we got it figured out. While our clothes were in the wash, we walked to a nearby gas station that was open today and got some snacks. I found some rice crackers that I had eaten on my first trip to France that I had never been able to find again, so that was a funny surprise.
Today was a lot more chill than usual, but its nice to have some days to rest. Tomorrow we're meeting at 7:30 to go to a vineyard north of Lyon, and we're all looking forward to that. This weekend we're going to Montpellier, so the weekend should be exciting.
À plus tard,
Maggie
