Bonjour tout le monde!
Today a bunch of us left for a weekend trip to Montpellier! We took a train and got to the city around 1 pm. The train ride was about 2 hours long, and I slept most of the way.
When we arrived in Montpellier, we met up with Andrea's friend Arti. She is American but is studying in Montpellier. We went to lunch, and I had the best burger I've had in a long time. The architecture in Montpellier is reminiscent of Paris, which I think is interesting. The city itself is a lot smaller than Lyon and Paris though.

After lunch we check into our hotel rooms. The hotel was quaint, a little sketchy, but good enough (and cheap enough) for us. We put our bags down and went back out into the city center. This weekend there was an extreme sports festival, FISE, so we checked it out. We ended up staying for awhile, checked out some merchandise stands and watched some BMX biking and parkour. We spent most of our day here, and although it was hot we had a good time. Everything those athletes do is crazy impressive.

After we were tired from the heat, we found a restaurant for dinner. We got a charcuterie board, bruschetta, friend shrimp, and mozzarella sticks. After dinner we went for some drinks at a nearby bar and then Arti took us to a dancing bar. We asked the DJ to play some American music, and he played some good classics.
The dancing bar closed at 1, so after that we headed back to our hotel. We all hung out in our hotel room for awhile before the boys went upstairs to their room.
Although it doesn't sound like much, this day was really fun and it was great to explore a new place.
À plus tard,
Maggie
