Bonjour tout le monde!!

We woke up exhausted because of the craziness of the last few days. We had normal classes for the first time in over a week, and it was both nice to get back into routine and unfortunate to be back in class.

Our morning class was our Industry and Society class, which is usually the class where we go on visits. However today we had to create and present a project. France, and Europe as a whole is taking initiative to be more sustainable. There is a big contest coming up called "Lyon 2030" where people in Lyon can propose ways to make the city carbon neutral by 2030. Our project was to pretend we are applying for that, and come up with a presentation. My group was Sam, Parker, Brett, me and Talia. We decided to be an energy company and come up with a bunch of types of more sustainable energy. My specification was solar panels. We presented our ideas and I think it went really well.

After class we went to lunch. We tried to go to the grill, but today it wasn't the grill and we were told that we couldn't eat there. We have no idea why and they just told us no, which is a little frustrating. We went to the pizza place instead and got pretty good pizza. Then we just hung around a bit until our afternoon class started.

In the afternoon, we had Management and Innovation. We are working on our final presentations, so that's all we did all of class.

After class, Andrea and I went back to our apartment and chilled for awhile. She did her laundry and I ate some dinner. At 8, we met the boys downstairs and we headed into the city for the night. We met Talia in Croix-Russe, and we went to an oyster restaurant. We got a few bottles of wine, a charcuterie board, and a bunch of oysters. Andrea and I usually refuse to eat oysters, but we gave in to the peer pressure tonight and tried them. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. Andrea hated it. We spent a few hours at dinner, and then walked around the city a little. We found a pretty overlook and enjoyed the view. Then Talia took us to a dancing bar, and the theme of the night was like French folk music. Everyone inside was very enthusiastic, and it felt authentic because we were in one of the oldest parts of the city. Most of the songs resembled sea shanties. Nonetheless, it was a great atmosphere and we had a great time.

Talia and Brett told me this had to go in the blog; the overlook

We left around midnight to go catch our trains. On the way home, Brett, Parker, and Andrea decided to start speaking Spanish. I know about four words in Spanish, so Brett translated what they said to me. Another great night out in Lyon!

À plus tard,

Maggie
