Singing in the Rain

Bonjour tout le monde!
Today was supposed to be a chill, relaxing day. We just can't stay in even though we're all exhausted.
I woke up around 11 am. I immediately noticed my lungs are sore from breathing the air of the festival last night (its night time as I am writing this and they're still sore). Our friend Brett came down and asked us if we wanted to go downtown to the olympic swimming pool, and Andrea and I couldn't resist. Talia road the train with us, but went to her house. Apparently Lyon thought the olympics might be here once, so they built a pool, but then they ended up not being here. Now the pool is open to the public. We get there, and realize we need reservations, and that its full for the day.
We wander around until we find an italian place for lunch. Andrea and I shared a really good pizza, and we all talked about our lives before the trip. A little bird kept landing on our table and walking around. Most restaurants have beautiful outdoor seating here, but it makes for a lot of bird visitors. It's really fun to get to know these people.

Brett, Andrea, and I head back to campus and meet up with Parker and Will. We decide to go to the supermarket to get some snacks and have a picnic in the park. We get to the supermarket, and realize that its Sunday and everything is closed. Luckily, we find a Monoprix (similar vibes to a Target) that is open not too far away and go there. We load up on cheese and crackers and other snacks. The boys wanted to get wine, but you can't buy alcohol on Sundays either. I found my favorite french candy, and got a few bags of that.
We take the bus to the park, and the park is closed for "security reasons". We couldn't find anything on the news, but Talia's house mom said it might be because of the thunderstorm warning we were under. We ended up walking through a bunch of random places and finding a river. We walked next to it and found a little rocky shore with some downed trees to sit on. We sat and enjoyed our snacks. We skipped some rocks and watched a nearby pack of dogs play with their owner.

After awhile we headed back to campus. Talia met us there, and everyone headed to the boys room. Andrea and I went to ours to figure out our Ethernet cables and chill out a little. We finally got the cables working, which is a huge bonus to the day. It started to storm and it set a really nice mood to work.
Later, Talia, Brett, and Parker knock on our door and ask if we want to go stand in the rain. We agreed of course, so the five of us went in front of our building and stood barefoot in the rain for awhile. It was nice and cool, which felt so amazing compared to our typical hot and humid weather lately. We always have the best conversations and they are some of the funniest people I think I have ever met.
After awhile the rain stopped and we decided to go back inside. At the door, we noticed that you can call up to peoples rooms. So, naturally, we called Will's room to scare him. French students kept walking by us very confused.
Everyone else went upstairs and I came back to my room to finish up some homework.
What was supposed to be a chill day turned into another adventure, which is exactly how I like it.
À plus tard,
Maggie
