The Market

Bonjour tout le monde!

Today started with another morning trip. We met at 9 at the tram station, and went to an indoor market. It was restaurants mixed with various permanent vendors. We were each given 10 euros, a scavenger hunt, and told we could only order in French. We finished our scavenger hunt quickly so that we would shop more. I spent exact 10 euros on cheese, a feta pastry, a chocolate eclair, a caramel, and a piece of chocolate. It was the best pastry I think I've ever had, I actually went back and spent my own money on another. There was a parking garage next to the market that had a nice seating area on top, so when everyone in the program was finished, our teachers took us up there to eat.

After chatting with our teachers, they told us bye since this was our last French class. We didn't have many French Language courses, but I had fun in the few we did. After they left, my friends and I went back to the market. Everyone else tried frog legs, oysters, and escargot. Andrea and I opted out of those options. Instead, I walked around the market alone and absorbed it all. I found a tote bag, a coke, and a gift for my dad. I also found a mint flavored macaroon, which I thought was different, so I tried it. It was like sweet mint, and pretty good.

We headed back to campus around 1 because we had class at 2. We had Management and Innovation for our afternoon class today, and it was a pretty normal class.

After class, Talia, Brett, Parker, and I went to the mall. We all needed several various things, so we shopped around awhile. After we were done, the others left to meet Will for dinner and I went back to campus to eat with Andrea. We found a nice burger place near campus and ate there.

After we got home for dinner, we went to do some laundry. The laundry here is odd to us-the machines are so small and so bad, and we have to use coins to start them. I put my first coin in, and it didn't start. I put another on in and it still didn't start. I tried to take them out, but the door was jammed. I had to call our program manager and another friend who lives in the building to come help. After about an hour, we found a manual switch to open the door. Thank goodness we found that, because I could not have gone the whole weekend without it. Also because it ate two coins, I had to use why last one to wash them, so they all have to hang dry.

After those adventures in the laundry room, I was exhausted and went to bed.

Paris is tomorrow!!!!

À plus tard,

Maggie
